Victor Frankl ranks among the most important psychotherapists of the 20th century. His most famous work, Man’s Search for Meaning, although written roughly 80 years ago, retains a powerful message for everyone.
Frankl articulated that there is a purpose to each person's life, and it can be found through work, love or suffering. He experienced all three, including being a Holocaust survivor.
Frankl once said, “The meaning of my life is to help others find meaning in theirs.”
So, I ask you to consider what are you doing to assist others in finding their purpose in life?
This cannot be done by a selfish pursuit of fame, wealth or status. In fact, the more we think of ourselves, the less we can think of others.
Be honest with yourself: How much do you care about other people? And how invested are you in finding the “meaning of my life” by helping others find meaning in theirs?
